Level II Ballistic Body Armour is typically soft armour, meaning it is composed of woven Kevlar. Level II Bullet proof vests are designed to protect from 9mm travelling at 1,175 ft/s and .357 magnum travelling at 1,400 ft/s. Level II Body armour can typically withstand multiple spaced hits.
Level IIIA Ballistic Body Armour is meant to stop .44 magnum travelling at 1,400 ft/s. Like Level II Bullet proof vests, Level IIIA is usuall soft body armour and light weight.
Level III Ballistic body Armour is the introduction of Metal or Ceramic Plates. Plates can be used alone or in conjunction with soft body armour. Level III plates are designed to stop 7.62 and 5.56 rounds ( AK47, R1, R4, R5 Rifles) travelling at 2,750ft/s
